CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Stony Brook senior hitter Harmonie Calinda (Huntington, N.Y.) and freshman setter Corinne Perry (Northport, N.Y) led the Seawolves to their eighth-straight win en route to the America East Player and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively. University at Albany junior setter Brooke Stanley (Hendersonville, N.C.) captured the Setter of the Week award for the second straight week with a strong performance in which she also moved further up the record books. All three awards are for the period ending October 11.
Calinda recorded 24 kills in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over New Hampshire. Five of those kills came in the deciding fifth set, which Stony Brook won after being down 2 sets to 1 earlier in the match. The senior committed just five errors in 58 attacks for a .328 hitting percentage. Calinda also tallied 18 digs, two aces, two assists and a block, recording her 16th double-double of the season. She averaged 4.80 kills, 3.60 digs and 5.30 points per set for the week in just the one match. On the season, Calinda leads the conference with 4.13 kills and 4.75 points per set. This is her second weekly award from the conference office this season.
Perry picked up her second career double-double with 47 assists and 12 digs in a 3-2 conference victory over New Hampshire. Her dig total was a career high, while she also added two kills, an ace and a .400 hitting percentage with no errors in five attempts. She averaged 9.40 assists and 2.40 digs per set in Stony Brook's lone match of the week.
Stanley earned her second straight weekly honor with a double-double against league opponent Hartford on Sunday, Albany's only match of the week. In a 3-0 sweep of the Hawks, Stanley moved into second-place on Albany's all-time assists list with 28 assists, surpassing Lisa Grenier's 3,260 career helpers. The junior also tallied 10 digs to complete her seventh double-double of the season, to go along with three service aces, two kills and a .667 hitting percentage. She finished with averages of 9.33 assists and 3.33 digs to go along with her team's .412 hitting percentage. This is Stanley's third Setter of the Week honor this season.
UMBC, Albany, Stony Brook and Binghamton remained unbeaten in America East play over the weekend. All four squads were among 60 Division I teams still unbeaten in league play entering the weekend. Only two will remain after Friday as Stony Brook will travel to face Albany and UMBC faces Binghamton in New York. Hartford at New Hampshire is the only match on tap Saturday. In-state foes Stony Brook and Binghamton will meet in Vestal on Sunday, while UMBC will also be in Albany to take on the Great Danes that afternoon.

the only match of the week against America East Conference opponent Hartford... The Great Danes
won the match with scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-12... Junior setter Brooke

second place on UAlbany's all-time assists list in the match... Stanley recorded 28

Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) added eight kills, and matched Stanley's match-best
.667 hitting percentage... Libero Laurie Gonzalez (Carolina, Puerto Rico/St. Francis School) also
finished with 10 digs for the Great Danes... UAlbany will return to action over
the weekend, hosting Stony Brook on Friday at 7 p.m. and UMBC on Sunday at 2
p.m.
Binghamton
(10-8, 2-0 AE) won its fourth-straight match and improved to 2-0 in America East
play when it defeated Hartford 3-0 on Sunday afternoon, its only match of
the weekend ... Binghamton will look to continue its hot conference start when it
hosts UMBC and Stony Brook this weekend ... Junior Anna Lejina (Riga, Latvia/Riga
Secondary/Univ. of Latvia) led BU against Hartford with 16 kills while hitting
.438 ... Junior hitter Michelle McDonough (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) also
chipped in 12 kills and seven digs and hit at a .458 percentage ... Junior setter
Lindsey Mueller (West Bend, Wis./West Bend West) dished out 33 assists as well
in the win over Hartford and added two kills ... BU also outhit Hartford .476 to
.078.
The Hartford volleyball team (6-14,
0-4 AE) finished a two match week with three-set losses to the Albany
Great Danes (25-14, 25-15, 25-12) on Friday and the Binghamton Bearcats (25-14,
25-14, 25-22) on Sunday ... In both matches, the Hawks were led by their freshman
hitter, Kami Nethersole (Cortlandt
Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) who finished with 19 kills for the weekend ... She
opened the week with doubles-digits, finishing with 10 against Albany and then
put down nine more against the Bearcats on Sunday ... She also led the Hawks in
hitting percentage in both matches, finishing the week with a .255 hitting
percentage with seven errors in 47 total attacks ... The Hawks will play one
mid-week non-conference tilt against the Sacred Heart Pioneers in Fairfield on
Tuesday at 7 p.m. before heading to New Hampshire to take on the Wildcats on
Saturday at 4 p.m.
UMBC (10-7, 2-0 AE) played just one match last
week, defeating New Hampshire, 3-2, Friday night at the RAC... Sophomore Alyssa
Lang (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) led the Retrievers with a game-high 21 kills,
while also earning 15 digs, as she recorded her third consecutive double-double
and fifth of the season... Senior Ashley Oscars (Bakersfield, Calif./Liberty)
smashed 15 kills and earned 13 digs, while both setters, senior Kira Giles
(Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada/Glenlawn, 15 assists and 14 digs) and sophomore
Allie Spaay (Kenosha, Wisc./Kenosha Tremper, 35 assists and 17 digs) also
recorded double-doubles... Junior Sabrina Hoeks (Olympia, Wash./AG West Black
Hills) was outstanding in the middle, hitting .692 with 10 kills and one error
on 13 swings... Giles has 3,032 career assists, putting her two away from third
all-time in school history... Hoeks remains in the Top 20 in the country in
service aces per set, hitting 27 (0.51 service aces per set) on the season...
Junior Pam Jarrett (Lincoln, Neb/Lincoln Pius X) became the eighth player in
school history to record 1,100 career digs when she earned a team-high 18 on Friday
night. She now has 1,117 for her career... The Retrievers return to action when

University of New Hampshire (8-13, 0-4 AE)
dropped a pair of five-set road decisions to America East foes UMBC and Stony
Brook... After playing in no five set matches over the first 19 matches, the
Wildcats have been a part of back-to-back five setters... Kirsten Bates
(Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Carroll) registered 28 kills in two matches over the
weekend, she now has 961 career kills and is just 39 away from 1,000 for her
career... On Friday at UMBC, Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley)
registered a team-high 18 kills... In addition to Fogarty, Justine Elliott
(Mitchellville, Md./St. Johns College) tallied eight kills and added four
blocks. Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) paced the Wildcat offense with 44
assists... Defensively, Sara Heldman (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) had 27
digs, while Bates had a well-balanced night for New Hampshire with 11 kills, 16
digs, three blocks and two aces... On Sunday, Fogarty registered 20 kills and
hit at a .356 hitting percentage, while Taylor Dressing (Gillette,
N.J./Gillette) and Bates tallied 17 and 14, respectively... Dressing hit at a
.389 mark and added four blocks... Uitti setup the Wildcat offense with 47
assists and added 16 digs, while Heldman had a team-high 26 digs... New
Hampshire returns to action Sat. Oct. 17 against the University of Hartford;

Stony
Brook (10-8, 2-0 AE) extended its winning streak to eight-straight and has not
lost in the last month after a 3-2 (25-17, 16-25, 22-25, 25-17, 15-13) win over
New Hampshire
on Sunday... The Seawolves received
double-digit kills from four different players and had five individuals dig ten
or more balls... Senior Harmonie Calinda (Huntington,
N.Y.) (24k, 18d), senior Lisa
Doremus (Glendale, Ariz.) (15k, 10d) and freshman Corinne Perry
(Northport, N.Y.) (47a, 12d) all recorded double-doubles....
Junior Jeanette Gibbs (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) led the way defensively with 26
digs and sophomore Bianca Hernandez (East Moriches,
N.Y.) chipped in with 15... Perry's 12 digs were a career-best... Junior Ashley
Headen (Alexandria, Va.) continued to have a great offensive
