Three Things I Can’t Live Without:
1. My family is the most important people to me. They have supported me through all my trials and tribulations. They have always given me the love and care that I need. 2. My really close friends, for me, are an extension of my family. They help to put things in perspective for me and make me laugh when I need it most. 3. One of my main sources of information, entertainment and communication is my computer. Without my computer I would be lost. I can’t imagine what life must have been like before the advent of the personal computer.
Q. Why I Chose University of Vermont:
A- Being from Iowa, I spent a good bit of time growing up as a kid in Colorado. So, when I came to visit Vermont, I noticed how much Vermont was like Colorado. I also realized that I really liked the people here in Burlington because they reminded me of the people in my home town. The restored section of Burlington, Church Street, also reminded me of home. When I walked the UVM campus during my visit I just fell in love with UVM.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- This semester I really like my Spanish class. It is surprising to me, but I really like the language...the way the words roll of my tongue. I spent the last summer studying in Spain and I learned a lot about speaking the language there. My Spanish class allows me to continue learning the language.
Q. One thing I have learned at UVM that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is:
A- I have learned how important nutrition is in order to be at my best, both athletically and academically. When I graduate I hope to apply the lessons that I have learned about nutrition so that I can remain healthy and active my entire life.
Q. My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is:
A- I would really like to become a Landscape Architect. I do enjoy things that involve design. It allows me to be creative and I enjoy that process.
Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why:
A- My high school basketball coach, Mr. Brendan Higgins. He has helped me learn so much about basketball and a lot more. He has help me with my philosophy of life and taught me a lot about the psychology of human nature. He has become very much like a father to me.
Q. The best thing about being a Vermont Catamount is:
A- There is a great sense of community here. Our team is like a family and this really helps in both the good times and bad.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A- We have several teammates from Arizona so this Thanksgiving we traveled there as a team to train and play in a tournament. It was a tremendous experience. I had never been to that part of the country and it was amazing to see the different landscape out there.
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A- This was the first week of classes for us so I went to all of my classes for the first time. I spent a lot of time reading over all of my class syllabi so that I could prepare myself for all the assignments that I will have to turn in through out the semester.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- We had practice every day this week. We also went to strength and conditioning twice. We watched game films of the teams that we are going to b playing this week. We also had two hard played games this week.
Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is:
A- Enjoy the present. Really appreciate all that you have and enjoy each day to its fullest. Study hard in all the classes that you take and enjoy life.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship:
A- I am really looking forward to spending time with my teammates. We have such a close team that I really appreciate the time that we have together. I think we have a good team this year and if we play to our potential I think good things will happen!
