Q. Why I Chose University Albany:
A- I chose to come to the University at Albany because the program and players were great and it is a nice university to go to school. I enjoyed my visit and the people that I met. I was looking to experience something different considering that I grew up in California. This school just seemed like the right fit for me.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- My favorite class is African American History because it is very interesting to learn a great deal about this topic. The professor is great as he always has my attention in this class.
Q. One thing I have learned at UAlbany that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is:
A- One thing I have learned at UAlbany that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is that everything happens for a reason. There is a reason that I came to school here and a reason that I met the people I did during my time here. Sometimes you don’t always know that reason right away, but you’ll find out sooner or later.
Q. My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is:
A- My dream job other than the WNBA is to be a mentor/counselor for children. I think it’s very important to have role models for children in need that may not have the best upbringing or family situation. I hope that my experiences can help me with being successful in this vocation.
Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why:
A- There is no one who has had more of an influence on me than my parents because my parents are my everything. They have been so supportive and have taught me everything that I know. I have taken on their values which is something I will carry with me the rest of my life.
Q. The best thing about being an Albany Great Dane is:
A- The best thing about being an Albany Great Dane is that a DANE is the biggest dog there is! The faculty, staff, administration is very supportive of our athletic program so that is nice to have.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A- My most memorable moment as an athlete has to be my sophomore year of high school when my team won the valley championship. I am hoping to make more memorable moments as an athlete here at UAlbany ? hopefully when we win the America East Conference Championship!
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A- Since it is winter break, this week I did nothing as a student. As soon as school starts however I will be busy reading and studying for my classes. It will be more difficult this spring semester because I will be travelling more for basketball so I have to make sure that I stay on top of my studies.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- This week as an athlete I had practice and one game. I also went to the gym on my own to work on my jump shots. The team watched some film and prepared for our upcoming game.
Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is:
A- Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is to stay focused on your goal and push yourself everyday to be the best in everything you do. This means BOTH school and athletics. You won’t get very far if you just focus on athletics and not academics.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship:
A- I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship because I want to win and earn the respect that we deserve as a team. It will be great competition and I’m really looking forward to working our hardest to get to the championship game!
