Over 1,600 Student-Athletes Named to Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A total of 1,639 student-athletes have been named to the 2007-08 America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for earning grade point averages of 3.0 or higher during the winter and spring seasons. Of those student-athletes, 724 earned Commissioner’s Honor Roll status for completing the term with grade point averages of 3.5 or higher. Click here for the PDF Release.

More student-athletes from Binghamton University (251) than any of the other nine schools were named to the Academic Honor Roll. University of New Hampshire had 201 student-athletes recognized, followed by University at Albany (198), University of Vermont (197), Stony Brook University (188), University of Maine (168), Boston University (159), UMBC (140) and University of Hartford (137) to round out the nine member schools.

New Hampshire had 121 of its student-athletes listed on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, the most of any of the other institutions. Binghamton (106) and Vermont (102) also had more than 100 winter and spring student-athletes finish with 3.5 grade point averages or better.

Sixty-four percent of UNH’s winter and spring student-athletes were named to one of the honor rolls, the highest percentage in the conference. Binghamton and Maine (63 percent), as well as Vermont (60) all had at least 60 percent of its student-athletes meet the academic requirements for the Academic Honor Roll.

The New Hampshire women’s indoor track & field squad featured the most honor roll recipients with a total of 56 student-athletes.
