HOBOKEN, N.J. - A trio of America East men's lacrosse stars were chosen in the Major League Lacrosse Draft earlier this week, including two in the first round. UMBC's Terry Kimener was selected 8th overall by the Chicago Machine , while Albany's Jordan Levine was taken two picks later at No. 10 by the New Jersey Pride. America East and the ACC were the only conferences with two choices in the top 10. Albany's Brett Queener went in the fifth round as the Rochester Rattlers chose him with the 48th overall selection.
Kimener, the America East Player of the Year, finished the year tied for second in the league with 48 points. A second-team All-America selection, Kimener was named the Most Outstanding Player of the America East Championship, which his team won with a thrilling 14-13 comeback win over Albany.
Levine, the second Albany player ever to be drafted, earned first-team all-conference honors each of the past three years. He was named to USLIA All-America squad as an honorable mention in 2008.
Queener, a goalkeeper, ranked among national leaders in goals against average (7.85) and save percentage (.579). He was a three-time all-conference selection and earned second-team honors this year.
