CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Three women's lacrosse All-America squads have been announced, including the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/US Lacrosse squad, and several America East standouts have been honored for their performance this season. Boston University's Sarah Dalton was named a first-team selection on all three All-America squads. Dalton,the 2008 America East Player of the Year, led the conference in points per game (4.42) and set the Terriers' single-season record for goals with 71.
The Terriers' Lauren Morton received second-team accolades from the IWLCA and third-team recognition from womenslacrosse.com, while New Hampshire's Michaela Hardy took home third-team honors from the IWLCA and second-team laurels from womenslacrosse.com. The website also selected Vermont's Kristen Millar to its third team and chose Boston U's Katie Nichols and New Hampshire's Allie Duclos as all-rookie standouts.
Additionally, UNH head coach Sandy Bridgeman was named womenslacrosse.com Coach of the Year and Wildcat goalkeeper Ashley Milley was tabbed the Unsung Hero of the Year for her strong play in between the pipes. New Hampshire went 13-6 in 2008 and became the first America East squad to earn an at-large bid since 2000.
