CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--University at Albany's Daniel Avery and University of Hartford's Kaycee Martinez earned weekly honors as America East Men's and Women's Track Performers of the Week, while University of New Hampshire's Brice Paey and University of Vermont's Corinne DiPietro received America East Men's and Women's Field Performers of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon for the week ending April 28.
Freshman Avery (Cooper City, Fla./Miramar Everglades) raced to an IC4A-qualifying time of 14.31 seconds to place 18th in the 110-meter high hurdles at the 114th annual Penn Relays Carnival on Friday, April 25 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. He was also a member of the shuttle hurdle relay team that won the IC4A division, and placed fourth overall, in a school-record time of 57.83 seconds. The performance eclipsed the previous school record of 58.62 seconds set in 1995.
Sophomore Martinez (South Yarmouth, MA./Dennia Yarmouth) set another school record in the 400m hurdles while finishing first at the Wildcat Invitational III hosted by New Hampshire this past weekend. She ran an ECAC-qualifying time of 1:01.85.
Freshman Paey (Milton, N.H./St. Thomas) was victorious in the shot put with a throw of 15.89 meters on April 26 at the Wildcat INvitational III. Paey also won the shot put with a throw of 17.56 meters on April 22 at a five-team meet at the College of the Holy Cross, breaking the 21-year-old record.
Senior DiPietro (Middleton, Mass./Masconomet Regional) came from behind to win the javelin at the UNH Wildcat Invitational III. She won the event with a throw of 39.80 meters. It was her third win of the season.

The Boston University outdoor track and field team faced competition at the Brown Invitational Sunday, after sending representatives to the Penn Relays over the weekend. Senior Tahari James placed third in the Championship of America long jump competition in Pennsylvania, while senior Jake Laroe took first in the 800m at Brown, setting the seventh-best mark in America East this season.[Boston Story]

The University of Hartford track and field team ran their last meet prior to the America East Championships this past weekend, at the New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational. The women’s team was led by Kaycee Martinez, while the men’s team saw one of its best performances come in the 4x400-meter relay.[Hartford Story]

The University of Maine men's and women's track teams competed in the non-team scoring Wildcat Invitational III on Saturday. The event featured several teams from the Northeast, as well as nonaffiliated runners.[Maine Story]
UMBC
The UMBC men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded competition at the Penn Relays on Saturday, as the men ran a total of three events on the weekend and the women saw competitors in five events over the course of the three-day event. [UMBC Story]
New Hampshire
When Ed McCabe threw the shot put 56 feet, 10 inches in the spring of 1987 to set the University of New Hampshire men’s outdoor track and field team’s school record, current freshman Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) was not even alive yet. Stony Brook
Stony Brook sophomore Alex Felce (Stroud, England) won the men's 1,500-meter in an IC4A qualifying time while fellow sophomore Stephanie Vos (Apalachin, N.Y.) broke a school record in the 400-meter hurdles Sunday at the Yale Invitational in New Haven. Senior Corinne DiPietro (Middleton, Mass.) came from behind to earn her third victory of the year in the javelin at the UNH Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.
