CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--University at Albany's Daniel Avery and Boston University's Whitney Ford earned weekly honors as America East Men's and Women's Track Performers of the Week, while University at Albany's Luke Schoen and University of Hartford's Latasha Jarrett received America East Men's and Women's Field Performers of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon for the week ending March 31.
Freshman Avery (Cooper City, Fla./Miramar Everglades) won the 110-meter hurdles in an IC4A-qualifying time of 14.31 seconds at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday, March 29 at Paul Derr Track Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. He advanced to the finals in the event by earlier recording a time of 14.50 seconds in the preliminaries.
Sophomore Ford (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) placed first in the 100m Saturday at the Tufts Snowflake Invitational, finishing with a 12:59 to earn one of Boston University's 16 top-10 finishes on the afternoon.
Sophomore Schoen (Bohemia, N.Y./West Islip) placed second in the pole vault by clearing the bar at an IC4A-qualifying height of 15-feet, 11-inches at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, March 28 at Paul Derr Track Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.
Post-graduate Jarrett (Ellington, CT/Ellington HS) opened up the outdoor season tied for first place with a jump of 5'4.5'' at the Trinity Bantam Invitational. Recently, she finished second at the America East Championships in the same event. She also competed in the hurdles and shot put.

Behind 16 top 10 finishes, the Boston University women's outdoor track and field team finished fourth out of 13 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Invitational Saturday, while the men's team earned fifth place out of 14 teams. The University of Hartford track and field teams opened the 2008 indoor season with the Trinity College Bantam Invitational track and field meet on Saturday in Hartford, CT. The event was not a team scored meet, however the Hawks saw three individual titles on the women’s side of the field. [Hartford Story]
