CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- All eight games of the 2008 America East Women's Basketball Championship presented by Friendship Cottage Cheese will be broadcast digitally for fans to watch at home. Pack Network, New England Sports Network and Comcast SportsNet will partner with America East to cover the entire tournament spanning the first round on Thursday, March 13 through the championship game on Sunday, March 16 from West Hartford, Connecticut.
For the second consecutive season, Pack Network will produce the first round and quarterfinals of the
America East Women's Basketball Championship on March 13-14 at the University of Hartford's Chase
Arena. The America East PackCasts will be streamed live on
AmericaEast.com where archived enhanced streamed games from the regular season can also be found. All five PackCasts will feature multiple camera angles, on-screen scoreboard, graphics, notes and
more.
The semifinal games on Saturday evening beginning at 5 p.m. will be televised live on NESN. Eric Frede will have the play-by-play, while Leah Secondo will provide the color analysis.
The title game on Sunday at 5 p.m. will be featured live on CSN, available in more than 3.7 million households throughout New England as well as in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. region. Frede and Secondo will once again have the call.
Last year, the seventh-seeded UMBC Retrievers defeated the three-, two- and one-seeds to become the 2007 America East Women's Basketball Champions and earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The bracket for the 2008 tournament will be available following the last game of the regular season on Saturday, March 8.
