Boston's Ryan and Tahari Finish Top Ten at NCAA Track & Field Championships

Fayetteville, Ark. - Seniors Marisa Ryan and Tahari James represented the Boston University women's indoor track team at the NCAA Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., taking fifth in the 3000m and sixth in the triple jump, respectively. Both athletes set school and personal records while earning spots as All-Americans.

The Terriers finished with seven points, tying for 29th in the overall rankings with West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Arkansas.

Ryan's 9:12.83 time in the 3000m earned her fifth place, closing a successful indoor season for the senior. Most notably, Ryan was named the Female Track Athlete of Meet at the America East Championship after placing first in both the 3000m and mile run, also earning the distinction of being named the USTFCCCA's Top Northeastern Women's Indoor Track Athlete.

James completed a 13.42m jump for sixth place, overtaking her personal record of 13.30m set at the America East Championship. The senior won America East's Field Performer of the Week honors in consecutive weeks, on Feb. 9 and 13.
