CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- UMBC’s Terry Kiminer (Oakton, Va./Oakton) has been named the America East Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, while Stony Brook’s Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, British Columbia/New Westminster) has earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week. The awards were announced on Monday, March 10.
Kiminer, a senior midfielder, scored six goals and added three assists in a pair of games last week. He scored a goal and dished out an assist in the Retrievers 10-8 loss to top-ranked Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Kiminer, a preseason All-America selection, tallied seven points on five goals and two assists to power his team past Yale, 11-9, on Saturday. He also became the 24th player in school history to surpass the 100-point plateu for his career.
Crowley earned his second straight rookie award after racking up three goals and three assists in a 17-15 win over Siena on Saturday. Crowley has led the Seawolves in points in two of his first three collegiate games.

Albany (0-3) fell to ninth-ranked Delaware, 8-7, in triple overtime on March 9... The Great Danes, who are winless in their opening three games for the first time since 2000, have played three national top-10 teams to begin the 2008 schedule... UAlbany has also lost to #1 Johns Hopkins and #6 Notre Dame... The Great Danes, who played in their first-ever multiple OT game at the Division I level, are now 4-3 in overtime games since 2000... Delaware’s Martin Cahill scored the game winning goal with 2:12 left in the third extra period... Tom Scherr, who had 18 saves for the Blue Hens, stopped Mike Ammann’s shot which started a transitional play that resulted in Cahill’s winning bounce shot... The Blue Hens, who are enjoying their highest ranking since 1999 and reached the NCAA semifinals for the first time last year, led by two goals on three occasions in regulation... UAlbany’s Brian Grodotske (Rocky Point, N.Y. / Rocky Point) tied the contest at seven apiece with 3:20 to play... Grodotske, who was making his first appearance of the season and has been injured for most of the previous two years, had a career-high three goals... Corey Small (St. Catharines, Ontario / Holy Cross) accounted for a season-high four points (3 goals, 1 assist)... Small has tallied three or more goals against eight opponents during his career... Small netted his 50th career goal with 11:08 left in the second quarter... goalkeeper Brett Queener (Penn Yan, N.Y. / Penn Yan Academy) made nine saves... Queener is sixth on the school’s career saves list with 339... Mike Ammann (Putnam Valley, N.Y. / Putnam Valley) handed out two assists and has had two or more eight times as a collegian... UAlbany is 23-16 all-time in Division I games decided by two goals or less...
Binghamton (1-1) continues its outstanding defensive effort two weeks into the season. The Bearcats rank among the national leaders in both goals against average (2.00) and save percentage (.862) ... junior goalie Larry Kline (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) made 12 saves in the Bearcats' 5-1 win at Marist on Saturday. His save percentage of 92.3 breaks the single-game school record of 91.6 set by former All-American Kevin McKeown. He also helped the Bearcats tie the school record (set in 2004 vs. Wagner) for the fewest goals allowed in a game. Through two games this season, Kline continues to rank among the national leaders in save percentage (.862) and goals against average (2.00) ... Binghamton has already broken four defensive school records so far this season.
Hartford (0-4) dropped an 11-10 decision at Sacred Heart on Saturday. The Hawks led 8-3 at the half and by six goals early in the second half, but the Pioneers battled back to take the lead with eight straight goals. Freshman Michael Cudmore (Ashburn, Ontario/All Saints Catholic) scored two goals and added an assist while seniors Tom Harris (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and Brian Tilley (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./St. Anthony's) each netted a pair of scores... Hartford will host Harvard this week on Tuesday, March 11 at 3:30 p.m. The Hawks wrap up the week at Quinnipiac on Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m.

Leads UMBC with 18 points (8, 10) on the season... On Tuesday, the Retrievers gave the top-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays all they could handle before falling by a 10-8 count before 921 fans at Homewood Field... Sophomore midfielders Kyle Wimer (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Maxx Davis (Baltimore, Md./Friends School) and junior attackman Ryan Smith (Fallston, Md./Fallston/CCBC-Essex) led the offensive effort with two goals each... In the nets, junior Jeremy Blevins (Cockeysville, Md./Calvert Hall) continued his outstanding play, keeping the Retrievers in the game for all 60 minutes with a brilliant 10-save effort... The Retrievers took their final lead of the night as Kimener hit the net just 1:24 into the third period... But JHU outscored the Retrievers, 3-0 over the next 17 minutes and led, 8-6 with 13:21 left in the final period... Davis scored the first two goals of his collegiate career vs. Johns Hopkins and followed up with two more in the win over Yale... junior attackman Alex Hopmann (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) produced his first multiple-goal effort of the year with two scores vs. the Bulldogs... UMBC hosts No. 6 Maryland on Friday night... The game will be televised live by MASN.
Stony Brook’s (1-2) win over Siena was its first of the season and kept the Seawolves undefeated against the Saints ... Stony Brook has won all five meetings against Siena, with all taking place over the last five seasons ... Stony Brook’s 17 goals were the most in a game for the Seawolves since the 2005 season when SBU scored 20 against Hartford ... the combined 32 goals were the most in a game since Stony Brook and Pennsylvania combined to score 33 (Penn 19, SBU 14) on May 2, 1991 ... the 11 goals scored in the second quarter (SBU 4, Siena 7) tied the school record ... it was the third time in SBU history that two teams have combined for that many goals in a quarter ... senior Bo Tripodi’s three goals gives him 92 for his career, tying him for sixth all-time at Stony Brook with Brian Reilly ... Stony Brook’s three Canadian players (Duch, Crowley and McBride) combined to score nine of the Seawolves’ 17 goals against Siena ... for the season they have scored 17 of the team’s 36 goals.
Vermont (0-4) dropped a 12-3 decision at Siena last Tuesday and a 7-4 decision at Dartmouth on Friday to fall to 0-4 on the season ... Junior Andrew Kelleher (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) had four goals on the week to extend his team leading total to seven on the year ... Kelleher also had 17 shots and 10 ground balls in the two games ... Freshman Derek Lichtfuss (Lutherville, Md./St. Paul’s) had two goals and an assist on the week ... Freshman Geoff Worley (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) leads the team in assists with four ... Vermont is just 27-for-82 (.329) on face offs this season ... Vermont visits Colgate at 7pm on Tuesday (3/11) and Penn State on Saturday (3/15) at noon this week ...
