Stony Brook and Boston University Battle for Women's Soccer Title

BOSTON - Boston University and Stony Brook University, the top two seeds in the America East Women's Soccer Championship, will meet for the league title and subsequent NCAA berth on Saturday at Nickerson Field at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live and available for purchase in the America East Zone at AmericaEast.com. The game, which will cost $5.95 to view or is part of a soccer championship package for $9.95 will be produced by Pack Network. Eric Frede, a two-time Emmy winner and part-time studio host, announcer and reporter for NESN, will have the call. Marissa Frischer will provide commentary.

The Terriers (14-5-1 Overall, 8-0-0 America East) are unbeaten in their last 10 games with seven wins during that stretch. Boston University downed Maine, 1-0, in the semifinals to reach the championship game for third time in four years. America East Midfielder of the Year Marisha Schumacher-Hodge scored the lone goal in the 56th minute for the Terriers, who are in pursuit of their sixth America East title and seventh NCAA appearance in nine years.

The Seawolves (11-7-0, 6-2-0), winner in six of their last seven outings, are making just their second appearance in the America East Championship final and first since 2002. First-team all-conference performer Brooke Barbuto and Rookie of the Year Colleen McKenna scored goals in Stony Brook's 2-0 win over Binghamton in the semifinals. The Seawolves are in search of their first America East title and first NCAA berth as a Division I program.
