CAMBRIDGE, Mass- For the second year in a row, New Hampshire and Stony Brook have earned the 2008 America East Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year Awards for the men and women, respectively. The awards are chosen by a vote of head coaches following the conference championship.
Jim Boulanger, head coach of the Wildcats for 23 years, led his squad to their third consecutive America East Championship and their sixth since 2001. Boulanger has received the honor six times while at UNH and twice in the last two seasons.
After leading his squad to its first ever conference championship last year, Andy Ronan’s women defended their title as the 2008 champions. Under the guidance of Ronan, the Stony Brook women remained nationally ranked for seven consecutive weeks this season, reaching as high as No. 12 in the polls. This is Ronan’s fourth consecutive year winning the award during his nine years at Stony Brook. Ronan is assisted by Steve Walsh.
