TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Boston University senior Andrea Walkonen (Jaffrey, N.H./Conant) earned All-America honors with her 21st-place finish at the NCAA Championships Monday, November 24 hosted by Indiana State University. It marks the second time in as many years that an America East runner has earned such recognition, as New Hampshire's Cathy Parker earned the distinction at the 2007 Championship.

Walkonen, who won the individual title at the 2007 and 2008 America East Cross Country Championship, finished the 6,000 meter course in a time of 20:29.4 in a field of 252 runners. Teammate Erin Lagasse also ran the meet as an individual, finishing 196th in a time of 21:56.9.

The Stony Brook University women qualified to run the Championship as a team for the second consecutive year. The Seawolves placed 30th out of 31 teams paced by sophomore Lucy van Dalen who crossed the line in 91st place, stopping the clock at 21:20.
