Hartford Women's Basketball Defeats #5 Duke, 53-51

CHICAGO, Ill.-- The University of Hartford women's basketball team defeated fifth-ranked Duke Friday night, 53-51. It was the first round of the DePaul Tournament in Chicago, where the Hawks will now face the winner of the DePaul/Southern game Saturday evening for the tournament title.

Senior guard Lisa Etienne led the Hawks with 15 points, six rebounds, seven steals and two assists, while junior Diana Delva scored 12 points and collected seven rebounds.

The Retrievers will play the hosts for the tournament title... Junior guard Carlee Cassidy has scored 20 or more points for three consecutive games... Seton Hall and UMBC have never played one another.

Stony Brook at Princeton    6 p.m.
The Seawolves are 2-0 all-time against the Tigers, while America East teams are 1-1 against the Ivy League this season... Sophomore Kirsten Jeter leads the Seawolves through three games with 8.7 ppg.

Hartford at DePaul (DePaul Tournament)    8:30 p.m.
Hartford plays the host Blue Demons for the tournament title... The Hawks won the only regular season tournament they played in last season, the Rainbow Wahine Classic... These two foes meet for the first time ever.

Junior guard Lisa Etienne scored a game-high 15 points and added six rebounds, seven steals and two assists... Senior guard MaryLynne Schaefer chipped in 10 points, eight of which came from free-throws, including one in the final seconds to make it a two-point game... Duke is the highest-ranked opponent the Hartford program has beaten.

Portland State 62, at Binghamton 52
The Bearcats fell in their home opener despite three players in double-figure points led by junior guard Erica Carter's 15... Darryll Peterson collected a game-high 11 rebounds and senior Laura Franceski swatted six blocks, more than the entire Portland State team.

UMBC 88, Northern Illinois 73 (Seton Hall Basketball Classic)
Freshman Katie Brooks led the Retrievers, who are averaging 87.5 points over the last two games, with 26 points, 16 of which came off free-throws... UMBC shot 50% from behind the arc in the second half and finished 41.7% from three-point land for the game.

Thursday, November 20
at Boston University 84, Siena 61

Senior Jesyka Burks-Wiley scored 20 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds... The Terriers extended their Case Gym winning streak to 14 games now spanning over three seasons.

at Central Connecticut State 65, Maine 57
The Black Bears shot 58.3% in the first half and 41.7% for the game... Junior Kristin Baker posted a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while knocking down three treys and dishing out seven assists.
