CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Six student athletes representing five different America East Universities have been chosen to the 2008 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Northeast Region First Team. An additional six America East women were selected as members of the Northeast Region Second Team.
Michelle Simpson (Middlesbrough, England/University of Teesside) from the University at Albany, Holly Wiles (Harare, Zimbabwe/Arundel School) from Boston University, Kelly Newton (Vancouver, British Columbai/Crofton House School) from the University of Maine, Kimberly Striegler (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) from the University of Vermont and Sarah Craigue (Concord, N.H./Concord) and Megan Shea (Melrose, Mass./ Melrose) from the University of New Hampshire were all honored as First Team recipients.
Albany’s Nicole Savage (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./James M. Coughlin) and Michele Polizois (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional),, Boston’s Kim Kastuk (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) and Lizzie Perreault (Teaticket, Mass./Falmouth), Maine’s Maire Dineen (Toronto, Ontario/Michael Power-St. Joseph), New Hampshire’s Whitney Frates and Vermont’s Jen Angers (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) represent the Second Team selections.
The NFHCA All-American Team will be announced Monday, November 24.
