UMBC's Ball Named Distict II Volleyball Academic All-American

BALTIMORE?Junior Sarah Ball (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada/Sisler) was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Volleyball Academic All-District II University Division second team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced last Wednesday night.

 

Ball has been one of the Retrievers’ best passers this season, averaging 2.69 digs per set, while earning 99 kills and 32 total blocks at the net. Last weekend, Ball became the 11th Retriever to earn 800 kills in her career and stands eighth in career assisted blocks (138), 10th in career digs (892) and 10th in career attacks (2,498).

 

The junior also excels in the classroom. The modern languages and linguistics major has posted a 3.79 cumulatvie grade-point-average throughout her years in Baltimore.
