CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Two America East softball squads--Stony Brook University and University of Hartford-- were recently named as National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) girls got game All-Academic Teams based on grade point averages submitted for the 2007-08 academic year.
The Seawolves, with a 3.25 team GPA, ranked 37th on the list, while the Hawks joined them in the ranks in the 62nd spot with a 3.15 team average. Stony Brook sent three of their student-athletes to the America East Softball All-Academic Team, including conference Pitcher of the Year Alyssa Struzenberg, while 11 members of the Hartford team received America East academic honor roll recognition this summer.
