Who’s Back:
Amanda Tewksbury (Jr., G, 5-9, 9.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg) Played and started 26 games, including all 16 conference games... Tied Kilmurray for team scoring lead.... Shot 44.2% from the field, good for 12th in conference.

Colen Kilmurray (Sr., F, 6-0, 9.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg) Started all 30 games for the Black Bears... Tied Tewksbury for team scoring lead... Led the team in minutes.

Who’s gone:

Kris Younan (G, 5-6, 5.5 ppg, 3.2 apg, 2.0 spg) Fifth in conference in assists... Tied for third in America East in steals per game.

Newcomers:
Four freshmen signed NLIs to play for Maine this season, including Samantha Wheler, a fourth generation Black Bear whose grandfather, Manch, quarterbacked the football team from 1959-61 and joined the NFL after graduating.

Notable:
For the second straight season, Cindy Blodgett's Black Bears carry just a single senior on the roster, Colleen Kilmurray.

Maine has won the most league titles (seven), the last coming in 2004.

The Black Bears visit former Maine head coach Joanne Palombo-McCallie, now at Duke, in Durham, N.C. for the first game of the 2008-09 season.
