Who’s Back:
Britney McGee (Jr., G, 5-8, 9.1 ppg, 3.0 apg) Led team in assists and finished third in scoring a year ago... Started 26 games, including all 16 conference games.

Janea Aiken (So., G, 5-9, 8.3 ppg, 1.3 apg) An All-Rookie selection in 2008... Ranked 14th in the conference with 41.5% shooting from the floor... Played in all 31 of the team's games and made six starts.

Who’s gone:
Gia Sande rs (G/F, 6-0, 9.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg) An All-Defensive and Second-Team All-Conference selection... Led team in the post both rebounding and blocked shots (42)... Second in AE with 2.03 steals per game.

Kristin Higy (F, 6-1, 10.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg) Third-Team All-Conference... Led the team in scoring... Second in rebounding... Third in conference with a .375 three-point field goal percentage.

Newcomers:
Five freshmen join the Great Danes this year from four different states. Four of these recruits are 6 feet or taller.

Notable:
The Great Danes set a new mark for most conference wins in program history since joining America East for the 2001-02 season. Albany also matched the program's best seed in the tournament (No. 4 seed).

In 2008, Trina Paterson became the first Albany head coach to win the America East Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.
