CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Boston University senior midfielder Marisha Schumacher-Hodge has been chosen as the inaugural America East Women's Soccer Fans' Choice Player of the Year. Schumacher-Hodge received just over 25 percent, 568 of the 2,252 votes, more than 200 votes ahead of Hartford's Kacey Busque (351) and Maine's Jasmine Phillips (345).

Schumacher-Hodge, the anchor of the Terriers' midfield, has led her squad to a 13-5-1 overall record, the America East regular-season title and the first unbeaten, untied mark in conference play since 2000. A two-time first-team all-conference performer, Schumacher Hodge is tied for the team lead with 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists. She has 38 points in 83 career games, including 29 in 54 career America East games.

Voting for the Fans' Choice Player of the Year ran from October 22-28 with one player of each member institution named to the ballot.
