Preseason Poll Preseason All-Conference Team TV Release
ALBANY, N.Y. ?
America East will officially kick off the 2008-09 men's basketball
season with Media Day on Monday, October 27 in Albany, N.Y., the site
of the 2009 America East Men’s Basketball Championship. The luncheon
will be held at the historic Fort Orange Club, a distinguished social
club in downtown Albany, starting at 11:30 a.m.
In addition to the unveiling of the America East preseason poll,
preseason all-conference team and league television schedule, head
coaches from all nine member institutions and conference commissioner
Patrick Nero will be present.
Former Vermont head coach and current ESPN analyst Tom Brennan, who led
the Catamounts to three straight league titles from 2003-05 an an
upset victory over Syracuse in the NCAAs, will emcee the event.
Commissioner Nero, along with Albany's Will Brown, Boston University's
Dennis Wolff and UMBC's Randy Monroe, will speak briefly about upcoming
season. Following the short program, coaches will be available for
questions.
AmericaEast.com will serve as the fans' source for videos, live

broadcasts, preseason releases and much more. Associate Commissioner
Frank Sullivan will sit down with each coach to discuss their team's
outlook, which will be streamed online. Rodger Wyland, host of Big
Board Sports on Fox Sports Radio 980 in Albany, will broadcast his
daily radio show from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and talk to America East
coaches and administrators throughout the morning.
