Men's Soccer: Binghamton, Boston U., Vermont Post Key Wins, Clinch Playoff Berths

VESTAL, N.Y. - Cameron Keith posted his fourth career multi-goal game and Jason Stenta made four saves for his 28th career shutout as Binghamton (9-4-3 Overall, 4-2-0 America East) knocked off New Hampshire (6-5-4, 1-4-2)  2-0 on Saturday evening at Bearcats Sports Complex.

With the win, the Bearcats clinched a spot in the America East Men's Soccer Championship, which begins with quarterfinal action on November 8.The Wildcats currently sit in sixth place in the league standings and can help their playoff chances with a win over UMBC in their final regular-season conference game on Wednesday.

Also on Saturday, Boston University  (8-5-3, 5-1-1) extended its unbeaten streak to six games, shutting out UMBC (6-7-2, 1-4-1) 3-0 at UMBC Soccer Stadium. Shaun Taylor, Ben Berube and Aaron O'Neal all had scores for the Terriers, who have clinched a playoff berth and sit atop the league standings. With a win against Hartford on November 2, Boston U. can earn at least of share of the regular-season title.

In Burlington, Lee Stephane Kouadio scored with just 6:45 left in regulation to give Vermont (7-3-6, 3-1-2) a 1-0 win over Maine (4-8-2, 1-4-1) and a berth in the conference tournament.

In Hartford, the Hawks (7-5-3, 3-2-1) played Stony Brook (2-11-4, 0-3-3) to a scoreless draw. at Al-Marzook Field. Nenad Cudic made seven stops for Hartford, while Dawid Ditrich stopped six shots for the Seawolves.

In non-league action, Albany(11-3-1, 4-1-1) downed Bryant 3-0. The Great Danes have also locked up a bid to the championship.
