CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- In this week's America East In The Polls, the men's soccer teams continue to make noise in the polls even now that conference play has begun, while cross country teams are still holding their ground regionally and nationally.

The Vermont men's soccer team (6-2-4 overall record, 2-0-0 America East record) defeated Dartmouth, who is receiving votes in the national poll, last week in a repeat of last year's NCAA match. The Catamounts are now ranked sixth in the Northeast, behind four BIG EAST squads and an Ivy team. Binghamton (6-3-3, 1-1-0) and Hartford (7-3-2, 3-0-0) round out the regional poll in ninth and 10th, while Boston University (5-5-2, 2-1-0) is receiving votes after blanking the Bearcats, 2-0, on Saturday.

In the USTFCCCA national division I cross country poll, Stony Brook women still sit at 12 after a weekend of rest. The Seawolves remain on top the Northeast poll, and Boston University enters the regional rankings in the 11 slot after finishing fifth at the New England Championships at Franklin Park. New Hampshire is also ranked regionally at 12. The Wildcat men are the highest-ranked America East team in the Northeast, coming in 10th. Boston U., Stony Brook and Binghamton finish out the top-15 in order. The UMBC Retriever men also rank 15th in the Mid-Atlantic poll.

After two wins over the weekend, including Sunday's 2-0 victory over ranked foe Providence, Boston University field hockey (7-7, 2-0) is now receiving 22 points in this week's NFHCA poll, just two spots out of the top-20. Both Albany (7-9, 1-1) and Vermont (7-6, 1-1) are also receiving votes in the same national poll. Two ranked non-conference opponents (no. 14 Boston College, no. 18 Providence) are on the America East slate for this week.

The Terrier women's soccer team (9-5-1) won two America East games last week and is ranked fifth in the Northeast according to the NSCAA/adidas Regional Rankings.
