West Hartford, Conn.-- Tuesday night's women's basketball match-up between first-place Binghamton and second-place Hartford being played at Chase Arena will be broadcast on Comcast Sports Net in New England and WIVT in Binghamton. A live stream of the broadcast will also be available online at the America East Zone. An archive will be available shortly after the game.
Eric Frede will have the play-by-play, while Leah Secondo will be giving color analysis of the game.
Storylines:
- After last Sunday night's victory over Vermont, Hartford extended its home-court win streak to 16 games. That streak ranks fourth in the NCAA only behind Duke (23 games), Old Dominion (18) and Jacksonville (17). The Hawks will be tested again at Chase Arena tonight.
- Binghamton senior Laine Kurpniece (Riga, Latvia/Riga Secondary School 47) is just two points shy of her 1,000th career point and will look to reach it on the road against Hartford Tuesday night. Kurpniece would be just the third Bearcat to score 1,000 points while playing all four years at the NCAA Division I level. Only one active America East player is currently over 1,000 career points--Hartford's Danielle Hood entered the season with 1,145 points.
- After getting off to a 2-11 start in non-conference play, Binghamton is 3-0 in conference contests and sits alone in first place.
- Hartford fell in its first conference game on a Boston University half-court buzzer-beater, but has won three straight afterwards, including twice on the road. The Hawks are in second place in the conference standings and look to move up to first tonight.
