Boston University softball players Chiya Louie and Christy Leath have been named to the 2007 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Softball All-Star team. The two standout student-athletes earned the honor after an impressive 2007 season where they helped guide the Terriers to the America East regular-season crown and a 34-14 record.

Leath, a rising junior, hit a team-high .380, which placed her second in the conference. By earning the AE Player of the Year distinction, she became the fourth Terrier to win the award. She batted .380 with 33 runs, eight home runs and 34 RBI. Leath led the conference in on base percentage (.488) and was second in batting (.380), third in walks (26), fourth in slugging percentage (.636) and seventh in RBI (34).

Louie finished her career in the scarlet and white as one of the most prolific hitters in the program’s history. In 2007, she led Terriers in home runs (14) and RBI (44) ? both single-season school records. She surpassed the single-season home run mark against Boston College with two long balls and then hit one more over the fence at Vermont to break the career record. The all-time record now stands at 32.
