Seven America East baseball players received regional and national recognition over the past week. Vermont's Bryan Rembisz was recognized as one of the nation’s top two-way players by PingBaseball.com, while Stony Brook pitcher Gary Novakowski and Binghamton first baseman Brendan Hitchcock were honorable mentions on the PingBaseball.com team. In addition, Binghamton's Matt Simek was a first team ABCA Northeast Region player, while Albany's baseball players Steve Wyland and Alexander Beaulieu and Stony Brook's Rob Leonard were all named to the ABCA Northeast Region Second Team.
Rembisz, UVM’s second baseman and top starting pitcher, was named to the All-PingBaseball.com Third Team in the utility spot.
Novakowski, the 2007 America East Pitcher of the Year, was an honorable mention selection.
Simek, a first-team all-conference second baseman, was the lone America East Player represented on the ABCA's Northeast Region first team.
Wyland, a first-team all-conference shortstop, and Beaulieu, a first-team all-conference relief pitcher, represent the 2007 America East Champion Albany Great Danes on the squad as second team selections.
Leonard, a first-team all-conference outfield, was the lone Stony Brook player and one of just four America East players of be honored by the ABCA.
