Terriers Draw Penn for Women's Lacrosse NCAA Championship

Boston University will head to Philadelphia to face No. 4 Pennsylvania in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship.  The NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee selected the 16 teams to compete in the on Monday evening.

Eight first-round games will be conducted Sunday, May 13, and four quarterfinal games will be played Saturday, May 19. These preliminary-round games will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final May 25 and 27 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The championship game will be broadcast live on College Sports Television (CSTV) at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 27. Tickets for the semifinals and final can be purchased by calling 215/898-6151.

Seven conferences have been awarded automatic qualification for the 2007 championship. In addition, the champions of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Northeast Conference competed in a play-in game for an automatic berth. The remaining eight teams were selected on an at-large basis.
