Stony Brook to Host Women's Lacrosse Championship

Stony Brook defeated Vermont 18-9 on Saturday afternoon to clinch a share of the regular-season title and the top seed for the 2007 America East Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Seawolves will host the four-team tournament at Kenneth P. Lavalle Stadium on May 4 & 6.

The top-seeded Seawolves (13-3, 5-1 America East) will take on No. 4 Albany (7-8, 3-3) in one semifinal contest. Two-time defending champions Boston University (10-5, 5-1) shared the regular-season crown with Stony Brook and have secured the No. 2 seed. The Terriers will square off against No. 3 New Hampshire (7-9, 4-2) in the other semifinal.

The Great Danes used a 16-7 victory over UMBC (7-10, 2-4) on Saturday afternoon to garner the fourth spot in the four-team field.

The game times for the championship are still to be determined and will be posted once made available.
