No. 4 Binghamton Rallies to Defeat No. 5 Boston U. 63-58

Binghamton, N.Y. -- Laura Sario netted a career-high 26 points as No. 4 Binghamton rallied from a 16-point second-half deficit to defeat No. 5 Boston University, 63-58, in a quarterfinal matchup that took place Friday evening at Events Center. Binghamton advances to the semifinals, where they will play No. 1 Hartford on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
 
Sario had eight of her 26 points during a 14-0 Binghamton run that gave Binghamton (11-18)  its first lead of the game since a 5-2 start to open the game.  She went 9-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range.  Laine Kurpniece chipped in with 12 points, and it marked her twelfth-straight double-digit scoring effort.
 
Leading the way for the Terriers (15-15) was senior guard Katie Meinhardt who had 25 points to go along with seven rebounds.  Also scoring in double-digits for the Terriers was Cheri Raffo who added 18 points.  It is the first time in five seasons that Boston University failed to reach the America East title game.
 
Binghamton and Hartford will meet in the semifinals for the second consecutive season.
