University at Albany’s Gered Burns (Altamont, N.Y./Guilderland) and Binghamton University’s Kim Williams (Buffalo, N.Y./ Leonardo de Vinci) are this week’s America East Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Performers of the Week, respectively. Binghamton’s Rory Quiller (West Point, N.Y./ James O’Neil) and Albany’s Jenn Gurrant (Batavia, N.Y./Batavia) earn the Men’s and Women’s Field Performer of the Week honor, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday (March 27).
Burns ran the 1,500-meters in 3:58.61 to win the event at Army’s Dick Shea Invitational. He also teamed with John Moore, Joe Belokopitsky and Joe Greene to win the 4X400 relay in 3:17.64.
Williams won the 100 dash in 12.45 and was part of the winning 4X100 relay team at the Dick Shea Invitational on Saturday. Williams is the reigning indoor conference champion in the 200.
In his first competition since earning All-America honors two weeks ago at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Quiller won the pole vault at the Dick Shea Invitational with a height of 16-7 3/4. In the process, he met the qualifying standard for the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championships.
Gurrant won the long jump with a leap of 17-6 1/4 at the Dick Shea Invitational.
