Entering selection Sunday with an RPI of 78, the Great Danes become the ninth team in conference history to earn a 13 seed. America East squads are 1-8 all-time from the 13th seed in tournament play, with the one victory coming most recently in 2005 when Vermont shocked #4 Syracuse 60-57 in overtime.
In their first-ever tournament appearance last season, the Great Danes nearly became the first 16 seed in tourney history to knock off a No. 1 seed as Albany led Connecticut by as many as 12 in the second half before falling, 72-59.
