Resetarits, Steffens Garner Week One Men's Lacrosse Honors

Albany’s Frank Resetarits (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and Hartford’s Rob Steffens (Rochester, N.Y./Spaulding) have been named America East Men’s Lacrosse Player and Rookie of the Week respectively. The awards were announced on Monday (February 26).

Resetarits scored four goals, including the game-winner with 1:44 remaining, in an 8-7 come-from-behind win over nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins. Resetartis found the net three times in the opening 23 minutes of play in staking his team to a 5-0 lead. Johns Hopkins, ranked #6 in the USILA coaches’ poll and #1 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll, went back in front, 7-5, in the fourth quarter. Resetarits came off a Thomson pick, took a pass from a dodging John Alpizar, and fired low from the top of the crease to regain the lead. Resetarits has scored four or more goals on 10 occasions as a collegian. He moved into a tie for fifth place on the school’s career goals list with 105 and is now sixth on the all-time scoring list with 165 points.

Steffens has scored goals in all three games the Hawks have played in 2007. He netted his first career goal in the loss to Colgate and added a pair in the defeat at Holy Crossand also scored two goals in Hartford’s first victory of the season against VMI.
