CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Boston University field hockey head coach Sally Starr received the 2007 Dita/NFHCA Division I Northeast Coach of the Year as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Wednesday morning.

Starr, the 2007 America East Coach of the Year, guided the Terriers to a program-best 18-6 overall record, including a perfect 5-0 record in conference play. The coach also led Boston U. to its third-straight America East Championship crown and third-straight NCAA appearance, where the Terriers defeated Iowa in the first-round and fell just one-goal shy of a trip to the Final Four.

Starr joins ACC coaches Missy Meharg (Maryland) and Karen Shelton (North Carolina), as well as Char Morett (Penn State) and Neil Macmillan (Ohio University), as regional coaches of the year.

The 2007 Dita/NFHCA Division I National Coach of the Year will be announced at the NFHCA Coaches Luncheon to be held on January 4, 2008 in Hartford, Connecticut.
