The Black Bears shot 55.6 percent in the first half and held the Highlanders to just four field goals in the stanza to jump out to a 39-20 halftime advantage and never looked back... Junior Bernal led all scorers with 19 points... Jason Hight added 12 points and six assists... Brian Andre hit 4-of-5 shots and finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
UMBC 83, at American 68
The Retrievers overcame a a seven-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Eagles 49-27 in the second period to earn the win... UMBC's 6-1 start is its best ever in 22 years of Division I competetion... Jay Greene tied career highs with 21 points and six three pointers... Brian Hodges added 19 points... Darryl Proctor and Ray Barbosa each had 14 apiece.

The Jaspers scored 19 of the game's first 25 points and never relinquished the lead... Carlos Strong poured in a game-high 25 points for Boston U... Corey Lowe added 23 points, five rebounds and six assists.

The Seawolves held the Big Green to 35 percent shooting and outrebounded them 42-23 to grab their first win of the season... Ricky Lucas scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds for SBU... Mitchell Beauford added 15 points... Demetrius Young contributed a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

The Rams hit nine three pointers in the first half and overcame an early 18-7 deficit to down the Wildcats... Tyrone Conley scored 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting for UNH... Mike Christensen added 18... Tyrece Gibbs contributed 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

The Broncos used a 15-2 early second half run to overcome the Bearcats... Richard Forbes scored a game-high 23 points and added six steals for Binghamton... Lazar Trifunovic contributed 14 points and eight rebounds.
