Albany, UMBC Ranked in Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll; Six Tabbed Preseason All-Americans

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- After both reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship last season, Albany and UMBC are ranked in the Inside Lacrosse/Face-off Yearbook Division I Preseason Poll. The Great Danes are ranked 12th, while the Retrievers begin the season 15th. Additionally, six athletes from the two schools were chosen preseason All-Americans by the magazine.

Albany, which was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation in 2007, return 22 players from a squad that went 15-3 last season and took Cornell to overtime in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. Jordan Levine, a second-team All-American last year, leads four Great Danes on the Yearbook's 2007 preseason All-America squad. Teammate Corey Small earned third team honors, while Craig McDonald and Brett Queener were honorable mention selections.

The Retrievers, who finished 11-6 last season, received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and upset seventh-ranked Maryland in the opening round. Terry Kimener, an honorable mention USILA All-American in 2007, was chosen a third-team preseason All-American. Teammate Bobby Atwell was an honorable mention choice.
