CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Five field hockey players from America East schools were named to the ECAC Division I All-Star Team as announced by the Eastern Coast Athletic Conference earlier this week. Leading the award honorees is Boston University senior midfielder Pam Spuehler who was just one ballot shy of a unanimous vote.

Boston University senior Sarah Shute and University of Vermont senior Danielle Collins were two of four forwards named to the team. Collins was the 2007 America East Offensive Player of the Year, while Shute notched 15 goals in her final campaign with the Terriers.

Joining Spuehler on the midfield unit was senior Michelle Simpson. Both players were named to the America East Championship All-Tournament Team, while Spuehler was also named Most Outstanding Player. America East players comprised two-thirds of the All-Star midfielders.

The America East Defender of the Year, Boston University senior Sarah Hudak was the third and final Terrier to receive an ECAC nod. Hudak was also a member of the All-Tournament Team as Boston University took home the conference championship.
