NCAA Field Hockey Bracket

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- The America East Champion Boston University field hockey team (17-5) discovered during the NCAA selection show Tuesday night that they would be playing fifth-ranked Iowa (17-3) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The 11th-ranked Terriers will travel to the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut to play the Hawkeyes on Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m.

With a win, Boston U. will play the winner of the Connecticut-Massachusetts game the next day at 2 p.m. The Huskies received an automatic berth into the tournament by way of the BIG EAST Championship, while Massachusetts won its play-in game against Princeton on Monday. Iowa captured the Big Ten crown with a 4-1 win over Michigan.

The Terriers are playing in their third consecutive NCAA Tournament, winning the America East Championship in each of those years, and making their 10th appearance overall. Boston U. defeated Albany in this year's America East Championship final, 4-1, last Sunday to receive the conference's automatic bid. In the 2006 NCAA Championship, Boston U. dropped a 3-0 decision to Connecticut in the first round.

The University of Maryland-College Park will host the 2007 NCAA Field Hockey Championship Final Four on November 16 and 18. The Division I Senior All-Star Game will be played in College Park on Saturday, November 17.
