Who’s Back:
Mike Trimboli experienced no sophomore jinx, earning first-team all-conference honors in 2007 after averaging 15.8 ppg and 5.0 apg. The 2006 America East Rookie of the Year is the top returning scorer in America East and is second among all returnees in assists.
Colin McIntosh averaged 7.9 ppg and 3.5 rpg as one of the top sixth men in America East.
Marqus Blakely finished strong in his rookie season and averaged 5.8 ppg.
Kyle Cieplicki (7.4 ppg, 2.7 apg) is the lone remaining player to have played in Vermont’s upset of Syracuse in the 2005 NCAA Tournament.
Who’s Gone:
Chris Holm (10.6 ppg, 12.2 rpg), who finished as the nation's second-leading rebounder, was a first-team all-conference selection in 2007.
Martin Klimes (6.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg) enjoyed a solid career at UVM.
All-Rookie choice Joe Trapani (11.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg) transferred to Boston College.
Newcomers:
Vermont adds four newcomers, all freshmen.
Notable:
Catamounts tied a school record with 25 wins and appeared in the America East championship game for the fifth-straight year. Head coach Mike Lonergan led Vermont to its first NIT appearance. It was the Catamounts’ fourth trip to the postseason in five years.
