Who’s Back:
Amy Simpson (7.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg) became a starter for the Wildcats last year as a rookie, starting 27 games, including 14 conference tilts. She was named an all-rookie and finished eighth in the conference in three-point field goals made.
Danielle Flowers (5.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg) is one of the top returning rebounders for UNH. She started 18 games last year as a sophomore.
Who’s gone:
Whitney Edwards was the key ingredient to the Wildcat defense the last four years. She led the conference in assists and steals (2.62 spg). Edwards was a unanimous all-defensive team honoree and the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year. She started all 29 games for UNH.
With 14.0 ppg and 5.8 rbg, Danielle Clark led the team in scoring and rebounding. Clark, a second-team all-conference, was fifth in the conference for scoring average.
Newcomers:
The Wildcat freshmen class of five is balanced with two guards, two forwards and a center.
Notable:
UNH named Kristin Cole (Notre Dame '94) the program's fifth head coach in June. Previously, Cole served as the assistant coach at Xavier from 2002-07.
Lundholm Gym, the home of UNH hoops, has undergone significant renovations over the summer, incuding new bleachers and baskets.
