CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- New Hampshire and Boston University, the top two seeds in the America East Women's Soccer Championship, will meet in the title game after each posting wins in the semifinals on Sunday.
The top-seeded Wildcats needed overtime to knock off fourth-seeded Stony Brook, 2-1. Striker of the Year Michelle Sheehan scored both goals, the game-winner coming 6:31 into overtime.
The Terriers, the No. 2 seed, downed No. 6 Binghamton, 2-0. Marisha Schumacher-Hodge, a first-team all-conference selection, scored in the 31st minute and America East Defender of the Year Casey Brown scored 13 minutes into the second half to send the Terriers to the finals.
UNH and Boston U., which shared the regular-season crown, will play for the America East Championship on Saturday, November 10 at 12 noon in Durham, N.H. The winner of the game will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
