CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Five America East field hockey players were named Longstreth/NFHCA All-Americans this week, headlined by Boston University senior Pam Spuehler, a first-team selection. Spuehler was joined by Boston University's sophomore Suus Dekker and University at Albany senior Michelle Simpson on the second-team, and University of Vermont senior Danielle Collins and Terrier senior Sarah Hudak on the third-team.

Spuehler completed a progression that included her earning third-team honors as a sophomore and second-team accolades last year as a junior. She tallied a team- and conference-best 37 points from the midfield this fall, recording 11 goals and 15 assists. She ranked eighth in the country in assists per game. Spuehler finishes her career ranked sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 85 points (28g, 29a).

Dekker is just the second Boston University sophomore to be chosen to the All-America Second Team (Alison Caito, 1985). The Holland native completed another strong year in the Terrier midfield with 15 points on five goals and five assists. No goal was bigger then her double-overtime tally in the Terriers' 1-0 victory over No. 5 Iowa in the NCAA First Round.

Simpson, who was also named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Regional Team, earned America East Conference First Team honors for the second straight year after finishing with 13 goals and eight assists for 34 total points as a senior.

Collins, who was named the America East Offensive Player of the Year this season, is a two-time NFHCA First Team All-Northeast Region First Team selection. She also earned all-region second team honors as a sophomore. Collins was a three-time America East All-Conference First Team pick during her career.

Hudak closed out her career with a remarkable senior season, as she was named the America East Defensive Player of the Year and was a key component of a defense that ranked 11th in the country in goals allowed per game (1.19).
