The Saints gave the Terriers a scare with a 16-2 run in the second half, but 18-point performances by senior Kasey Devine and junior Jesyka Burks-Wiley lifted Boston U. to the season-opening victory.

at Portland State 62, Binghamton
In a late, West Coast start time, Binghamton's Laine Kurpnience netted 22 points, the most by a Bearcat in a season opener since the program went Division I in 2001... The Bearcats overcame an 11-point deficit faced in the first half, but eventually fell in the waning seconds of the game.

at Stony Brook 66, Iona 57
The Seawolves gave Michele Cherry a win in her head coaching debut... senior Aly Young led all scorers with 13 points, while preseason all-conference honoree Dana Ferraro brought down a game-high 16 rebounds.... Jodie Pikus contributed 11 points off the bench.

at Indiana 67, Albany 59

The Great Danes had a 45-37 lead in the second half, but couldn't hold on against Indiana... seniors Gia Sanders and Kristin Higy each put up a team-highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

at Clemson 72, Maine 59

A second win in as many years over the Tigers wasn't in the stars for the Black Bears this season... Freshman Tanna Ross notched a game-high 14 points and sophomore forward Brittany Boser earned her first career double-double (10 pts, 10 reb).

at Massachusetts 69, Vermont 68

A pair of free throws by UMass' Sakera Young with four seconds left was the difference between the win and the loss for the Catamounts... Four Catamounts hit double-digit points.

George Washington 79, at UMBC 59

Sophomore guard Carlee Cassidy drained a game-high 24 points for the Retrievers, but 24 team turnovers plagued the home team... The 2007 America East Champions raised the championship banner prior to the game.

The Retrievers take to the RAC Arena court for the second time in three days... UMBC holds a 4-2 all-time lead over Rider.

Sophomore Courtnay Pilypaitis (13.7ppg) leads the Catamounts into Worcester in their second road game in the state of Massachusetts already this young season.

Stony Brook at Connecticut, 2 p.m. (CPTV)

In the Gampel Pavilion season opener, the Seawolves face a second-ranked Connecticut squad... Will be televised live on Connecticut Public Television.

Hartford at Kansas, 3 p.m.

The America East preseason favorite Hawks head into Lawrence led by senior preseason all-conference honoree Danielle Hood (13.1ppg).
