CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- This week in the polls, the Binghamton men's soccer team is still receiving votes in the national poll and four field hockey schools are in the STX/NFHCA Division I poll.
In the
Men's National NSCAA poll, Binghamton (8-2-0) remains among those receiving votes after their 2-1 win over the Terriers Saturday night.
Regionally, the Bearcats are ranked third, tied with the University of South Florida. Earlier this week, Binghamton's Cameron Keith was named to the
College Soccer News National Team of the Week. UMBC (5-3-2) joins Binghamton in the regional poll at #10 thanks to their shutouts last week against Mount St. Mary's and Stony Brook.
Stony Brook (5-2-4) and Boston University (5-5-2) continue to be the top teams on the women's side. Both the
Seawolves and the Terriers are receiving votes in the NSCAA regional poll, and are ranked 11th and 13th, respectively in the
Soccerbuzz regional poll. Soccerbuzz also puts the Wildcats among the Northeast's best and receiving votes.
The Terriers played a tough field hockey game against the second-ranked Maryland Terrapins, losing 3-1, but were rewarded with a slight bump in the
coaches' poll to #13. This is the highest Boston University has been ranked this year. Albany, who has yet to let up a goal in three conference games, is ranked 17th. Vermont and New Hampshire are receiving votes. The Catamounts and Wildcats will square off on Saturday in Burlington at 1 p.m.
The Stony Brook women's cross-country team continues to run strong and are still ranked third in the
Northeast region, as well as receiving votes in the
national top-30 poll. Boston University and New Hampshire are ranked 9th and 12th, respectively, in the regional poll.
In the men's poll, the Wildcats and the Terriers are also ranked regionally, at 10th and 13th.
Looking ahead to the winter sports, Vermont's men's basketball standout Mike Trimboli has been named to t
he College Hoops Net Mid-Major All-America Third-Team.
