CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- New Hampshire earned the top seed for the America East Women's Soccer Championship by virtue of Hartford's 2-0 victory over Vermont (3-14-1, 2-6-2) on Sunday. Earlier in the day, Maine defeated Stony Brook, 1-0, and Boston University earned a share of the regular-season title with a 2-0 win over Binghamton. In Baltimore, UMBC (3-13-2, 2-6-2) downed Albany (4-10-3, 1-7-1) 3-1.

In the Women's Soccer Championship, No. 3 seeded Hartford (7-6-4, 5-1-2) will host No. 6 seed Binghamton (3-11-3, 2-5-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in one quarterfinal matchup. Fourth-seeded Stony Brook (7-4-5, 4-2-2) hosts No. 5 seed Maine (6-7-3, 4-3-1) at 7 p.m. in the other quarterfinal contest. Semifinal action with take place on Sunday, November 4 with the winner of Hartford and Binghamton traveling to No. 2 seed Boston University (9-6-2, 6-1-1) for a 12 noon game. The winner of Stony Brook and Maine will go to No. 1 seed New Hampshire (10-6-2, 6-1-1 )for a 12 noon start. The championship game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 10 or Sunday, Nov. 11 at the highest remaining seed.

In non-conference action on Saturday, New Hampshire was edged by Yale, 2-1. On Thursday, UNH and Boston U. played to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Thursday afternoon. Carson Laderoute scored in the 82nd minute to lift Vermont to a 1-0 victory over Maine. Senior Sara Flowers scored in the 53rd minute to give Hartford a 1-0 victory over Albany. Binghamton earned its second conference win with a 3-1 victory over UMBC (1-6-0, 4-9-3) in Vestal.
