Men's Soccer: Binghamton Overtakes First Place

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- John Bergqvist scored in the 60th minute to help New Hampshire (5-4-6 Overall, 2-1-3 America East) earn a 1-1 tie at Hartford (6-4-5, 1-1-4) on Sunday. Daniel Antunez found the back of the net for the Hawks in the 23:43 into the contest.

On Saturday, Cameron Keith scored a goal and added an assist as Binghamton defeated Albany, 3-0. With the win, the Bearcats (12-4-0, 4-2-0 ) moved into first place in America East. The Greats Danes are (2-10-3, 1-3-2).

Shaun Taylor and Neil Hlavaty had goals as Boston University (9-5-2, 3-1-2) held off a late charge from UMBC (8-5-3, 3-2-1), to win 2-1 at Nickerson Field. The Terriers moved past UMBC and briefly held the top spot in America East until Binghamton's win later in the evening.

Stony Brook (9-6-2, 3-3-1) won at Maine (3-12-1, 1-5-1), 1-0. An own goal in the 42st minute was the difference.

On October 24, Chris Banks scored the game's lone goal in the 67th minute and Mike Jenne made four saves as New Hampshire defeated Binghamton, 1-0, at Durham Wednesday night.

Maurice Brown's goal in the 60th minute was the difference as host Stony Brook defeated Albany, 1-0.

Vermont (5-9-2, 2-2-2) got second half goals from Lee Stephane Kouadio and Loren Hill in a 2-0 win at Maine.

Aaron O'Neal's goal in the 85th minute helped Boston University earn a 1-1 draw at Hartford.

Action resumes on Wednesday when first-place Binghamton travels to Vermont for a 2 p.m. contest. Albany hosts Maine at 2 p.m., while Hartford takes on UMBC at 6 p.m. in West Hartford, Conn. Boston University entertains New Hampshire at 7 p.m. In out of conference action, Stony Brook takes on Yale at 7 p.m.
