Former America East Player Wins MLB Comeback Player of Year Award

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Former America East All-Conference first baseman Carlos Pena, now of the Tampa Bay Devils Rays, was named the American League Comeback Player of the Year on Tuesday (October 2). Pena played three seasons at Northeastern, leading the Huskies to the 1997 America East Championship, when he was named Most Outstanding Player. Pena batted .282 with 46 home runs and 121 RBIs for the Tampa Bay this season.
