CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- New Hampshire improved to 6-1-0 in America East with a 1-0 win over Hartford Sunday.
The Wildcats (10-5-1 overall, 6-1-0 America East) got a goal from Shaunna Kaplan in the 35th minute and Nikki Golding made five saves in the win. The Hawks fall to 5-6-4, 3-1-2.
Boston University (8-6-2, 5-1-0) moved into second place in America East with a 3-0 win at Stony Brook (7-3-5, 4-1-2). The Terriers travel to New Hampshire Thursday in a showdown of the top two teams in the conference.
Laura Harper had a goal and an assist as Maine (5-6-3, 3-2-1) defeated Binghamton (2-10-3, 1-4-1-), 2-0, at Orono.
Michelle Worrest scored the game-winner in the 75th minute as UMBC (2-11-2, 1-5-0) earned its first conference win of the season in a 2-1 decision over Vermont (2-13-1, 1-5-0).
On Thursday, New Hampshire scored twice in the final 17 minutes of the game for a 2-1 comeback win over Maine. Mariane Rivard's goal with 2:21 left was the difference.
Hartford handed Boston University its first conference loss in a 1-0 decision. Sara Flowers scored the game's lone goal in the 56th minute and Elizabeth Cook made three saves.
Kate Collins scored in the 57th minute to help Stony Brook earn a 1-1 draw at Binghamton. Charlotte Foster had given the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute. The goal snapped Seawolves goalkeeper Marisa Viola's shutout streak of more than 863 minutes. Viola finished with five saves. Jen McEachron made seven saves for the Bearcats.
Carson Laderoute scored a goal and assisted on two others as Vermont earned its first conference win in a 3-1 decision over Albany (4-8-3, 1-5-0).
