WEST HARTFORD, Conn. ? The Canadian Lacrosse
Association announced its roster for the 2008 U19 World Championships, and
University of Hartford freshman Michael Cudmore is among the 23 members who
will compete for Team Canada.
The 6-0, 200-pound midfielder recently attended final tryouts in British
Columbia at the beginning of October. He was one of nine midfielders selected
to the squad, which will be coached by lacrosse legend Gary Gait.
“The Hartford administration, players, and coaches are very proud of Michael
making the U19 national team for Canada,” said Hartford head coach Peter
Lawrence. “We look forward to him representing his country and our University
next summer.”
The 2008 U19 World Championships, which will take place on July 3-12 in
Coquitlam, British Columbia, will feature 12 of the globe’s most talented
junior lacrosse teams. Represented at the event will be the United States,
Canada, Australia, England, Iroquois, Japan, Korea, Wales, Germany, Bermuda,
Finland and Scotland.
