Men's Soccer: Hartford Downs Binghamton in OT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Kevin Hall scored his second goal of the game in the 99th minute to lead Hartford to a 2-1 OT win over Binghamton. The Hawks improve to 6-3-2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 1-0-1. Binghamton, which had a four-game win streak broken, is now 9-3-0, 2-1-0.

Hall had tied the game, 1-1, in the 74th minute. Cameron Keith's sixth goal of the season had given the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute. Hartford goalkeeper Matt Glaeser and Binghamton goalkeeper Jason Stenta each made three saves.

After 90 minutes of scoreless regulation, Stony Brook needed less than a minute of ovetime to score as Matt Avellino found the back of the net 44 seconds into the extra period in a 1-0 win over Vermont. The Seawolves are now 7-4-2, 1-1-1. Vermont falls to 4-9-0, 1-2-0.

In other games, UMBC defeated Maine while Albany and New Hampshire played to a scoreless draw in America East men's soccer action Saturday afternoon. Boston University scored in the 79th minute to defeat Penn State, 2-1 in a non-conference game.

UMBC (6-4-2, 2-1-0 in America East) received goals from Kevin Gnatiko and Andrew Gillis in the first 7:01 of the game and never looked back in a 3-0 win over Maine (2-9-1, 0-2-1).

Albany and New Hampshire combined for 29 shots but neither team found the net in a 0-0 draw at Albany. Steward Ceus made 4 saves for the Great Danes (2-7-2, 1-0-1). Mike Jenne had 2 saves for the Wildcats (3-4-5, 0-1-2)

Samuel Appiah's goal in the 79th minute broke a 1-1 tie and led Boston University (7-5-0, 1-1-0) to a 2-1 win over Penn State at Nickerson Field in Boston.

Vermont (4-8-0, 1-1-0) plays at Stony Brook (6-4-2, 0-1-1) at 7 in the final evening game.

On Wednesday, Binghamton needed overtime for the second-straight game as the Bearcats posted a 1-0 win over UMBC. Justin Leskow's goal in the 99th minute was the difference.

Boston University, which dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at Binghamton last Saturday, bounced back with a 2-0 win over Maine. Freshman Aaron O'Neal scored both goals for the Terriers, who outshot the Black Bears, 15-4.

T.J. Gore had a goal and an assist as Vermont defeated New Hampshire, 3-1, at Durham.

Stony Brook had eight shots on goal and held Hartford without a shot on goal, but the Seawolves and Hawks played to a 0-0 draw. Matt Glaeser made eight saves for
